updates

i got this from my bestie's blog... though i'd share it with you guys.. hope you dont mind that i stole it beef.. hehe..

The Lord is my shepherd;

He leads me to better study habits
For my grades' sake.
Yea, tho' I walk through a valley of borderline grades,
I will not have a nervous breakdown

My test paper runneth over with questions I recognise.
Surely passing grades and flying colours shall follow me all the days of examinations;
And I shall not have to dwell in this college forever!


cool huh? i like it.. haha.. yeah.. so, it's good to know that things back home are going good... my uncle is doing well, although he got admitted to hospital again.. thanks to all who were praying for him.. it really was a blessing in disguise.. cos i know in my heart and soul that this who episode has given him a new level of faith. he used to be indifferent to church and church stuff and all, but now i think that's changed for him.. Praise the Lord!

and my dearest abbie darling.. so glad you're doing well in school.. i knew you could do it.. keep up the work gorgeous.. love you babe!

so.. so much has been happening in the past month.. let's see.. major highlights..

19th August : My 19th birthday..
i had lunch with my dear friend winnie at a chinese restaurant the day before my birthday.. and on the day itself, my hostel mates, my cuz and i were supposed to go ice-skating in the afternoon, but in the end it didn't materialise.. i had to go to the market in the afternoon to get all the food for the bbq we were having at night.. so by the time i got home it was too late to go skating.. i had so so much stuff.. i bought 5kg of potatoes, 4kg of chicken and over a kilo of saussages.. thank God i rode my bike.. otherwise i would i have died trying to carry all that stuff home.. i could barely even balance on my bike!! haha..
yeah, so the bbq was wicked... we took a while to get started and all, but it was great fun.. my hostel mates, sam and sean, were so sweet as to help wash the bbq pit for me while i was getting ready.. yup.. then the fun began.. cindy was took over my camera for the night.. and she did an awesome job.. thanks darling.. i've got heaps and heaps of photos, so i'll try to upload some of the nice ones.. then we had cake and then i went to the pub with my cuz and hostel mate.. that was a funny incident, cos i went there and left my I.D. at home.. so they wouldnt let me in.. so we drove back and got my ID.. thankfully, the pub was just round the corner.. and i saw an accident scene.. it was a real bad accident, and i said a little prayer for the vic who was lying on the pavement.. hope he/she's still alive and well.. yeah, so went to the pub for like an hour, danced for a bit too, then came home.. got home about 1.. i think.. can't really remember..
i got a boquet of flowers from my mum.. she got my ciz to get them on her behalf.. and my cuz got me a bottle of white wine.. i got heaps of cards, chocs and a soft toy.. not to mention all the smses from back home.. thanks everyone for all your birthday wishes.. i miss all of you so much!!!

20th August:
i was asked by someone from school if i wanted to work.. and i was like, "why not?".. cos like so many people here work.. and i thought it would be fun.. and it's only 1 day a week.. on sunday mornings... which means that i can't go to church.. but there's evening service anyway.. so yeah, i work sunday mornings at port adelaide.. the first train leaves the city at 7.15, and gets me there at about 7.30.. then either i have to take a cab in, or his mum picks me up.. oh, the guy is a school mate of mine.. his family owns a farm, so they grow most of the fruit and veg that they sell.. im just the cashier.. but yeah, it's a good job.. and its only 5 hours.. pay is good too.. it's A$16 an hour.. which is just over S$19... sweet!! hehe..

alright, i will blog more tomorrow.. gonna go to bed now.. take care peps..

School Lunch

so... today was my second last trial exam paper.. i really praise and thank God for my results.. all glory to Him.. thank you so so much Lord.. :) so, anyway.. we had a lunch just for the foundation studies program students today after the paper.. we were supposed to bring something from our own country... so i brought the only thing that i'm good at cooking - glutinous rice! haha.. i learnt to make that from aunty May while working at MPCC SCC.. haha.. so glad she taught me that.. otherwise i wouldn't have had anything to bring.. i wanted to bring bread and butter pudding.. but my teacher was like 'no no.. you've gotta bring s'pore food!'.. haha.. so yeah... anyway, the lunch was great... got to mix with the rest of the students.. i've got heaps of pix.. so i'll try to upload most of them.. hope they don't bore ya.. haha.. yeah.. so... the food was like AWESOME!!! haha.. japanese, sri lankan, malaysian.. and so so many more.. there was even satay and spring rolls... spring rolls were great.. satay can't compare to s'pore's though.. hehe.. but i'm not complaning.. been ages since i last had satay.. yum yum! only regret is i didn't have any chocolate cake.. :( well at least i had japanese crackers.. yum... hehe..
was supposed to have psychology class after luch, but my teacher was sick so she went home.. hope she's feeling better.. so anyway, i went shopping with my friend Winnie.. then i met my "papa" and "mama" -- my hostel mates.. and we shopped somemore.. my feet were so tired i could barely walk home.. haha.. anyway... i got myself an early b'day present.. i got myself an iPod.. and no, it's not a Nano... i don't like nano's.. no offence to those who own one.. it's just that i think they're so fragile and delicate.. and i'm so clumsy and always dropping things.. i'd probably just drop it ans it'll smash to bits.. at least that's what i think.. haha.. so i got the one which looks more hardy.. i got the shuffle.. i know it's old and all, but i think it's good.. hehe.. besides.. as long as it works it's ok... i wouldn't have gotten it if my creative still worked... so for the past 6 months my creative has been used as a USB..

i'm back...

ok, sorry for the long absence.. as requested by manda, i will try to blog more frequently.. hehe.. :) ok... so.. trial exams are almost over.. just left with logic on friday and psychology on the 24th.. i'm so so glad i dropped math and took psych up.. true, there are endless amounts of reading and long essays to do, but i really like it.. i am doing well at it too.. thank you Jesus.. :) ok.. what else... hmm... we got back our accounting trial exam results and praise the Lord i did pretty well.. wish i could have done better, but i'm content.. it's good actually, cos it makes me wanna work harder.. i think if i got a few marks more, i would have been complacent this term and started to slack off.. so you see, God's thoughts are really indeed much higher than mine could ever be.. hehe..
on sunday in church we had a guest speaker.. he's Sy Rogers.. some of you might have heard of him or even attended his sermon.. i know Mel has heard him before.. he has an amazing testimonial.. he used to be gay and the Lord brought him back before it was too late... he has a website.. it's www.syrogers.com .. check it out if you like.. it's pretty cool.. yeah.. so church was awesome.. attended 2 services.. worship at the evening service was led by Guy Sebastian's bro... can't rmb his name.. but he's awesome! he has a great voice too.. and he's great at the piano as well.. reminds me of Esther Yang.. hehe.. miss u hun.. i miss MPCC so so so much.. Paradise is great, but it could never beat MPCC.. i made my best friends there (love you gals), and friends that i will treasure for the rest of my life.. like Es, Mel, Jie, Jie Fu, Alicia (the best dance partner i could ever have! :)), Shell, Chris, Derek, Ivan, Steven and so many more... i miss u guys so so much! love all of you! thanks for being such great buds! ugh.. this is making me homesick!! haha..
yeah.. so, tmr i'll be getting back Language and Communication - basically English - results, and economics results too.. praying that i'll do well.. yup.. well it's 0117 now. and i'm off to bed.. gotta be up at 7.45 latest tmr... so night people.. take care, and keep the faith! love ya all! hugs..
